Not a post I wanted to do, but I am still not getting my disability benefits. I have completely run out of my funds, so in addition to finding money to eat, I need to also complete the PC build, to keep searching for work since my laptop is dying.
Since I would need to cover for monthly expenses plus find cheap RAM somehow in this day and age. I would appreciate any help, even 1 dollar.
If you wish to help: https://ko-fi.com/yukideer
Thank you

@toast the main way I think it's better is that it decouples storage and that it from the start has a story for mass aggregation. I also like that it uses schemas and namespaced types, the typing of activitypub is dog shit in practice no matter how great you think it is on paper, and the things that make it great on paper just aren't really possible irl

i was thinking of how to explain atproto best to tosti and the best explanations i found were "they're claiming they're trying to be a network where everyone has its own 9p filesystem" and "imagine ipfs but it's federated instead"
i don't dislike atproto but i just think it's not meant for social media lol

@hakui @lain @snacks @nugger it's fine, I value your input. my goal is to eventually generate full character sheets completely using human writing, and then use the AI and see if it makes tolerable art with good direction. it's entirely possible the end result will not be great.

@hakui @lain @snacks @nugger right now it's a tech demo. I would never try to make a real game without actually putting thought into that, yes

@sun @lain @nugger @snacks a part of it is also because i don't sense any overall direction right now besides "here are pngs of girls my type"
for a gacha game to work, the player has to want to roll for the png. why should they choose /your/ pngs, in an era where we are absolutely flooded with pngs, especially when people with low expectations can just AI output their own pngs?
examples that worked:
>this png is based off a real boat
>this png is based off a real horse
>this png is a character in a coherent story setting
>this png is voiced by my favorite VA
maybe it's not fair to you because you barely started yet, but it'd be nice to see some direction at some point

@SuperDicq remember when some feminist made an m&ms meme about would you eat a handful of m&ms if a few of them might kill you, that's men, and people just immediately started copying it and replacing it with blacks, syrian refugees
I mean, what's the counter-argument after that when someone takes your own argument and makes you eat shit with it.

@phnt @jonny @Codeberg people can just admit they don't want llms no matter what. it will generate less unwanted discussion because let's be honest it's not actually a discussion

Using sexual assault statistics to dunk on cis males is the same thing as rightoids who use black crime statistics to justify racism.

The film comes off as if it were written by a millennial and as far as I can tell, they're trying hard to appeal to ten year olds. Again, that's a choice. It leans into campy, and depending on whether or not you accept the humor, you're going to love it or hate it.
Thus far I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would, but maybe it improves.
I guess I would have preferred a more adult take on the story.

@sun @jonny @Codeberg Especially in the case of "add feature X to project Y that was refused with: No use case/We don't do that." If the project doesn't want it, might as well fork it, get an LLM to do most of the work and be done with it. Not like the changes will get upstreamed anyway, so code quality doesn't matter as much for a personal fork.
This case is where the "making a better world" argument falls apart, I get my feature I want and everyone else gets nothing (likely not even the patches).

Masters of the Universe (2026) is now available to watch for free on Amazon, who made the film through their MGM studio.
I started watching last night and am only half way through. I should preface any review by saying, I was a fan of the cartoon growing up. It's based on a toy, and the cartoon was made to help market the toy. There was a live action film made in 1987-- which I've never seen. So this is the second live action film.
There's any number of directions they could have gone with this film, and they choose to stay true to the source material, and created a backstory, where the prince is transported to Earth as a young child with the sword of power, but loses it en route. He spends his days remembering his home of Eternia, and the people who live there. He even recounts life there to anyone who will listen, which people assume he's crazy. Oh, and he's spent the last 15 years searching for his lost sword.

I didn't really do portraits before, but I've done a few with the RB67 and I love how it looks so much.
I tried so far the Delta and the HP5+, and I find the delta grain too soft.I want to try a color film next.
