i cant express the hate i have for mainstream distros
like arch, fedora, debian (no), fedora atomic (and its variants), nixos, etc
its all mostly distroslop

Please consider that some computer touchers and users just want something that broadly works without too much hassle and uses something made by assholes, sometimes evil ones, not because they agree with the assholes, but as a compromise because the other option(s) would completely fuck up or complicate their daily usage and/or workflow, and folks like me just don't have the fucking energy for the tech holy wars and trying to learn and use the most correct ™️ thing.
For example, my main systems run with systemd not because I necessarily agree with the project's goals or the devs' opinions, but because it provides the least friction out of the options available with the way I want to use my system.
Open source/libre die-hards who thumb their nose at anything and everything proprietary as well as the people who use such things (not necessarily voluntarily) frustrate me similarly.
I wish I had the energy for all that, but I really don't.

Bet some of y'all are surprised to see something like this from me. I've got my dominant moods like this but they're a near-constant when my pet Lukie (of our girlfriend-system, @seiza) is involved.
The moment I met her (before we even became girlfriends with her host system) I just wanted to protect her and keep her safe, she's such a sweetheart and I love her so much. And what could be safer than being lovingly pinned under big, soft corgi toes? :blobfoxfloofhappy:
