I'm sorry this is all I'm posting about right now. I've been witnessing all sorts of people get hurt or taken advantage of by this person for months, and it has recently come to a head with defamation and accusations of grooming. I'm pissed off, and I'm done with this all taking place in the shadows.
If any of you have had strange or unpleasant experiences with this user or any one of their numerous personas, I invite you to add to the evidence on their specific relevant user page on Pelago. Over 100 accounts to choose from, so you might want to just put their fedi handle in the search to find the page for a specific account and add evidence.

I'm continuing to make this public because this person continues to lie and defame me, as well as make some pretty heinous false accusations about people I know.
For context, please check the Pelago link in the root post of the thread.
I doubt they're done on the fediverse, but they're making themselves cozy on Bsky, namedropping, defaming and spreading disinformation over there now!
In the case that they re-appear on Fedi, you should not trust or interact with this person. They will try to take advantage of you, and if you attempt to call them on their behaviour, they will turn around and attempt to defame you. Typical DARVO routine.
Me and others have tried to privately handle this with the person in question on numerous occasions, and they flat out refuse to take any responsibility for their actions, despite overwhelming evidence.
Instance admins: If you have a suspicious signup request, I'm happy to discuss and share further info such as their known IPs to determine if it's them. DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO NOT INTERACT. They have gone as far as suicide threats and emotional manipulation to try and get evidence removed from Pelago.

Whoever you are, you lost my sympathy when you used emotional manipulation to try and take control of the situation one of the last times you were called out, nevermind the plagiarism, sketchy attempts at privilege escalation to become a moderator when you are not fit for such a role, DMing users for instance invites so you always have a backup account, or just random bullshit you make up to defame people when they upset you.
Your pattern of behaviour is not harmless, and I'm done with your shit. You have been given numerous chances to simply own up, but you double down on lies every time.

I'm really bad about asking for help when I need it, but I can't justify committing so much of my pay to keep my server stuff afloat right now, especially if there's a dead drive.
I'm asking for help with some much needed upgrades and some hardware to help with upkeep.
2x High performance 1TB NVMe drives w/cache - ~$350 CAD each
CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD 1500VA UPS - ~$320 CAD
So about $1020 CAD altogether, or ~$1122 after Ko-fi and PayPal fees.
If I can't manage to get enough for the above equipment, I can at least put it towards power bills, which are ~$250 CAD/mo.
The SSDs will go to replace the mis-picked SSDs (Samsung 970 EVO Plus) I originally installed in the server that currently have a wearout percentage of ~34%, just over a year since I powered the thing on. I have no reason to believe the other two SSDs are failing, but I'm running out of space, and I don't trust those Samsung drives for anything important. I'd like to replace them ASAP.
The additional UPS will help split up the load when the power goes out. Currently, I have all the servers and network equipment on one UPS. I'd like to dedicate a UPS to the server, and the other for the network equipment.

Please consider that some computer touchers and users just want something that broadly works without too much hassle and uses something made by assholes, sometimes evil ones, not because they agree with the assholes, but as a compromise because the other option(s) would completely fuck up or complicate their daily usage and/or workflow, and folks like me just don't have the fucking energy for the tech holy wars and trying to learn and use the most correct β’οΈ thing.
For example, my main systems run with systemd not because I necessarily agree with the project's goals or the devs' opinions, but because it provides the least friction out of the options available with the way I want to use my system.
Open source/libre die-hards who thumb their nose at anything and everything proprietary as well as the people who use such things (not necessarily voluntarily) frustrate me similarly.
I wish I had the energy for all that, but I really don't.
