I’m opening my English ↔ Indonesian translation commissions again this month, and I’m available to take on new work immediately.
I’ve been translating since 2018. I work in both directions (English to Indonesian and Indonesian to English) and can help with books, comics, articles, academic journals, websites, software, games, technical documentation, and other general or specialized material.
I also offer Indonesian proofreading and comic typesetting.
I’m open to one-off freelance projects of any size, recurring work, and longer-term or full-time opportunities. Small jobs and quick pieces are welcome too.
My starting rates are:
• General translation: USD 0.005–0.010 per source word
• Technical translation: USD 0.007–0.013 per source word
• Comic translation: USD 3–6 per source page
• Indonesian proofreading: USD 0.003–0.005 per word
• Comic typesetting: quoted per project
• Minimum fee: USD 5
To be transparent, my immediate goal is to earn roughly USD 330 by the end of this month. That would help me cover my monthly bills and ease some of my family’s debt. This is why I’m actively looking for additional paid work right now, and every project—including a small one, would genuinely help.
I can start immediately. Urgent work can also be discussed depending on the scope and my availability.
For international clients, I can accept PayPal, Ko-fi, or Wise. For clients in Indonesia, I can accept bank transfer, GoPay, or DANA.

@TonyVladusich - Unfortunately for you, the board consists of 9 highly respected mathematicians. So their reputations may get incinerated by their choice to participate, but they won't simply be brushed off by the mathematics community: they'll be taken seriously by many, at least at first.
They were smart enough to start by asking for suggestions on how to proceed. This is why I suggested that they democratize this business instead operating as self-appointed leaders.
Then mathematicians can argue it out, and maybe our opinions will have more effect.

i am just having a great time and trying to pace myself to find the good shit in here.. it is very late here so i may get to a full and earnest hateread and upload of the contents in the morning. but this is extremely good stuff. i have unpacked this whole thing and unless it synthesized a whole ubuntu VM in less than a minute then i think this is a real dump. there is so much fun shit in here and the thing is you don't even need to wait on me to get it, i guarantee if you try you will be able to get a dump, and then we can compare if they are the same.

i suspect for a country to go heavy on solar u need either the ability to plan longterm or the need for autonomy from the grid.
otherwise short term coal and oil are always more tempting.

I’m also saying “fuck you” to the self-appointed advisory board! If you’ve never worked in the tech industry you may not understand the level of deceit, propaganda and outright lies these companies will promulgate for their own ends.
Any attempt to engage in good faith is simply more trouble than it’s worth. Let them release what they have. Folks will scramble over the feast while it lasts and things will eventually stabilise again. But don’t give them what they want, which is the legitimacy of naive attempt at good faith bargaining. We’ve seen how that ends with the current wave of fascism gripping the US and elsewhere. I see the ends of these companies in terms of their attempt to undermine systems of free thought and hijack the labour market.
As scientists, they are our enemy. We, who defend free thought and labour for little else than human knowledge and betterment, stand between them and the destruction of all we value.
There endeth my poor attempt at a Churchillian rhetorical speech! 🤣
