tl;dr: a woman, after doing prior research on how to do it effectively, and after doing prior research to where she would have to send her husband in order to have time to strangle her three kids, sent her husband away, and then took her three kids to the basement one at a time and strangled them with exercise bands. she then jumped out the window and paralyzed herself.
she admitted to the killings multiple times.
to you and I, this is murder.
the problem is, (((somehow))), this murder case from 2023 blew up on tiktok. and now a good portion of the internet, especially tiktok and plebbit, say that she didn't do anything wrong and that she just had postpartum depression and also he's a gemini and she's a leo and *checks notes* "leos don't kill their cubs"
her murder trial was a mistrial. 11 out of 12 jurors wanted to set her free.
women should not be voting. they can't even keep themselves from killing their kids.

@r000t@ligma.pro I don't think this has to do with gender. I think the core issue here that the US has a punitive criminal justice that cares more about "an eye for an eye" than actually being pragmatic and focusing on the needs of society.
In the US you either go to jail, or get "not guilty by reason of insanity" with some non-voluntary commitment.
In the Dutch legal system someone like Lindsay Clancy would have 100% gotten "Terbeschikkingstelling", a court ordered measure for serious offenders with mental issues. It is essentially incarceration combined with psychiatric treatment, clinics where people usually only ever leave from not when their punitive sentence is over but when the clinic is certain the person will not be reoffending for the sake of keeping society safe.

@r000t@ligma.pro Basically what I'm saying is in cases like this what bothers me most about the US legal system is that people all everyone cares about from both sides is if she deserves punishment or not.
It doesn't fucking matter if she's responsible or not. Either way what actually matters is that she needs to be locked away from society and get psychiatric treatment.
