mailing lists still the best way for users to ask questions about tech projects imo. its a shame people think email is too old fashioned so lets use something even older like irc and something worse like forums.

So the police seized a street-legal e-bike, one that was actually supplied by the city council for this purpose⦠And the reason being that they tested it by driving the wheels manually????
Police tested Zandiβs bike by lifting the back wheel and spinning the pedals as fast as they could, then making a note of the bikeβs display.
The bike was seized as it showed a speed over the limit of 15.5mph.
But the test was flawed, as all it showed was how fast police were manually able to make the wheel turn, not the power of the motor.

A Simple, Lightweight, Unopinionated, Federation Interconnect.
The problem: While numerous network transports exist (cjdns, Yggdrasil, I2P, Tor, etc), and numerous name services exist (Namecoin, ENS, Unstoppable Domains, PKT, etc), almost all federation takes place over ICANN+IP because we currently have no way to federate across network boundaries, and ICANN+IP is the only thing that everybody has.
I claim that there is no possible solution SIMPLER than SLUFI, except with central authority or PRECIPITOUS loss of security. Furthermore, I claim there is no possible solution that is more secure than SLUFI, except with something like a blockchain and a PRECIPITOUS loss of simplicity.
So while I do not think this protocol is complete (yet), I do think SLUFI is the only realistic starting point for reaching a solution to this problem.

@brettm i guess i have a perspective issue because the nuclear disaster near where i lived was as bad as the reactor issue in chernobyl but the safety features made it negligible. i would see nuclear reactors every morning on my drive to work. i just don't get the fear that the green party was founded on emotionally.
