My dad has an iPhone 18 Pro Max. He's been using Apple's Braille Screen Input on it with great success. Then last night, it suddenly stopped working well for him, and he hasn't figured out what happened or how to fix it. He can type things like a full cell, dots 4-5-6, l, etc. but can't type real words on it. Anyone know what might have gone wrong? Please boost for reach. Thanks.

With everything going on in the Linux world, FOSS, and now the kernel not requiring AI disclosures, I am just going to pin my kernel version right where it is (end of 6.17) and deal with it. Defense in depth tactics mean I should be fine if I am smart about it and my hardware isn't exactly bleeding edge (nor is it going to be).

It's not worth it to me to gamble on if the next kernel will make my system unbootable and delete all my data on top of it because of some AI caused bug. No thanks - my threat model is now *internal*, not *external*.

as expected, they take down the title in the cinema. I don't think it was 2 weeks.

I just couldn't think but no wonder people no longer going to cinema. you can have a cinema running at home by paying only like 2-4 of the titles, and use it to sub at your favorite service. thus watch whatever and whenever you want to during those month. 

despite that, honestly I prefer cinema because I can watch it without any disturbance, like hot weather or uncomfy seating

so, Albert Heijn, one of the main Dutch grocery chains, has had a major IT disruption because of some sort of ransomware attack, and this has caused stores to not get deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables 

Some passerby was quoted on the news as saying to chin up and stop whining because "it's nothing compared to third-world countries" (their phrase, not mine)

The type of places they mean typically have a *fantastic* selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. A city running out of vegetables overnight is a situation you only get yourself into by complete dependence on hyper-optimized centralized computerized supply chains...
