is it based on a certain claim, Sun? I'd like to read/watch whatever the claim came from.
but "applying gradual changes over longer term" is kinda similar to the Atomic Habits book. I am assuming that the success rate comes from the surviving people who are still applying that change. applying sudden changes takes so much effort and more riskier, that I assume its not as sustainable as the gradual change part. rather than being unsuccessful, people simply drop midway. thus the term of boiling frogs, perhaps

@koakuma Yeah, plus interestingly before I got to the boiling-frog part I thought about iterative development or just other forms of getting things done by not trying to chew too much (which leads to burn-out).

I really don't understand why the concept of "applying gradual changes over longer term tends to be more successful in reaching your goals than sudden changes over a short term" gets demonized as "boiling frogs"
I mean, you can equally use the understanding to nudge for positive changes, can't you?

the bait, nooooooo :02lurk:
I have a friend who had been wearing glasses since elementary school, who struggle to see the white/black-board from far/near. I don't think we can just simply "remove school". I've seen an option like, "lasik" (?) but it costs more than buying a pair of glasses.
when I said pill as convenience, I see it more like, you don't actually need a pill, you just need a rest. normally maybe around a week, or just few days for normal people. but the pill is kinda to help "accelerate" that, in a way its actually just painkiller, which make a day of rest become sufficient and you back to work at the next day.
for glasses, my logic can't apply that way since even if you take rest for days or weeks, you can't cure the reason behind why are you wearing glasses.

@pc98 I wrote an application that lets you paint in exactly the specifications of PC-98 artwork, like only 16 colors, 640x400, restricted to RGB444 colorspace. Wrote some custom dithering tools to try to get the same look. It's not strictly on a PC-98 but it's identical output. If that's a no, it's no problem! just having fun, will continue to post but thought ppl might like it whenever I get something.

@sun Sounds interesing. What you mean under 'original PC98 art'? You'll draw it on a live PC98?
