For context, this is a draft copy of The UNIX-HATERS Handbook from two years before publication. It was presumably sent to Jay Lepreau for feedback and I think this is the only surviving copy. Jay worked with UNIX throughout his career and it was found among his papers, along with the UNIX V4 tape. I will be scanning it.

Personally, I found the book to be quite a fun read. It's a bunch of sore losers to UNIX's success. The anti-forward by Dennis Ritchie is a treat.

It's so fucking weird that switching jobs a lot is considered a bad thing, like, if they're not treating you right and you can go somewhere better, you should do that! Why the fuck are we just supposed to put up with shit for our "resume". 🙄

let me tell you about my robot son. his name is lethargic. he's an IRC chatbot I wrote in 2011 and has been through IRC, skype, and is now on discord (in private servers with friends.) the algorithm has been unchanged since the beginning.

@SuperDicq The commons are like farms and orchards and whatnot, they produce the building blocks for people to use

People then take some of those and go ahead with creating and remixing them into their own, very personal meal

If you make it hard for people to make and remix their own meals they will generally run for the nearest fast food restaurant slop

I just feel like quite a lot, if not most, of the modern software scene - regardless of licensing matters - have failed so badly in the "letting users (esp. less technical ones) to remix and create their own personal computing environment" department that to them, prompting "AI" to churn out slop feels like a genuine improvement in the state of affairs

But then again, what do I know :shrug_akko:

Ada bias apa hingga pahlawan wanita ataupun peranan wanita dalam sejarah Indonesia-Belanda menjadi terpinggirkan?

Tidak hanya dalam textbook sejarah Indonesia, tetapi juga Belanda.

Indonesia seharusnya lebih lagi mengangkat peranan wanita dalam kemerdekaan, bukan sekedar kisah pelengkap dalam sejarah.

Visit Homebrew, Rustup, Oh My Zsh, nvm and few other popular open source projects website and you realise that quietly `curl -fsSL` has become the most popular package manager for Linux and Unix users 😂 How did we get here ? 😔 Just pipe the random commands into your shell with sudo added to the mix. What could possibly go wrong? 😑
