Oh boy, here we go again...

Someone in mastodon.social named "Mohammed Jamil in Gaza" is asking me and a couple more people for a donation to help treat her little daughters... from the comfort of his house in Belgium, according to his own chuffed.org campaign page.

The pictures look legit, probably taken from someone else's stolen facebook profile, but his two daughters sure grow up quickly for a war that started not even 3 years ago.

"We have lost everything because of the war. Our home was destroyed, and today we live in extremely harsh humanitarian conditions in tents, struggling to find food, medicine, and clean water." You casually don't struggle to find electricity and an internet connection, which is more than most people in Gaza can ask for. Maybe because you live in Belgium and not Gaza.

"We are not asking for luxury—we are asking for a chance to live" No, not asking for luxury, just 20k€. And by the way we still have no proof your account and story is real. Nice em dash btw.

I also tried to find his pfp on the internet and I only got two matches in Mastodon and some random friendika instance, meaning that he is targeting the fediverse specifically, which is weird. Normally you would at least try to reach out trough X or facebook or instagram or something because they are more popular.

One more thing though. His mastodon account is brand new and has absolutely nothing in it other than the beg post citing some random people he has nothing to do with.

PLEASE don't fall for this scam, if you pay these people, you don't know where your money is going to go. It could very well go to fund some war for what you know. Maybe to the Israeli gobernment so that they can opress the Gazati more.
