@newt it was a second-rate show until the Dominion War imo, but even then they did cheapass stuff like adding a "holo-screen" to the Defiant so instead of compositing a screen with a person on it when they talked to another ship, they just had someone stand on a pad in the same room.

@sun @newt Every first episode of Star Trek is a cheap clunky mess.  Compare the first episode of DS9 to the first episode of TNG and you'll see a real wild comparison.

@thomasroiloup @newt they started ds9 concurrent with tng still airing
