@sun Get yourself a cheap multimeter if you don't have one already, and get in the habit of beeping out everything with continuity mode before applying any power. Saved me uncountable times at this point.

@phnt checked everything on my solder job with multimeter and it helped. Issue was I just bought the wrong kind of ribbon cable. New ones coming tomorrow and I can continue
