@sun Violent crime in the US now is the lowest it's been in over a hundred years, the best things we could do to reduce it would be to have non-corrupt programs to actually help the homeless and get certain blue cities to send repeat offending violent psychos to a firing squad instead of trying to rehabilitate them

---Reply--- Blurry Moon@sun@shitposter.world (2026-09-02 13:53:59) @scathach of course yes a ton of crime goes away if people have their needs met, this is all hypothetical, you could reduce crime by force with these cameras. it would be bad but possible. I think there's a theory that the cameras don't or won't work but clearly they would if you start with the fact that it's the same small group of people committing street crime over and over.

@scathach I don't want the cameras. the cameras are bad. I don't want to live in a world where there's cameras everywhere.
