you ever think about the fact that modern 1080p video streams at 7-ish mbit are so compressed that they'd still fit on a DVD disc if only players could decode it.

The 1080p streaming gunk on the internet is just DVD quality video, stretched to cover a much higher resolution and then hoping a newer codec will manage to at least make it watchable

@quad old digital satellites were worse than DVD, I noticed them ratchet down the quality as they added more channels.
