the world will eventually move to unikernels running on microvms on swarms of machines where the vms can blip between machines and suspend and spin up basically instantly but until that happens then the BEAM VM is the best abstraction for basically that and that's why basically everything I do that isn't like a game or something is elixir

@shibao I wonder how small you can make a kernel that just runs BEAM, can't be that big when BEAM manages almost everything itself. Sun already wrote an entire OS almost exclusively in Java.
