have seen a few vidya for the https://www.ayaneo.com/product/AYANEO-Pocket-DS today. sadly an android system.

if you can for example put Ubuntu touch or PMOS on it, it might be interesting.

@quad@akko.quad.moe was that one of the DS devices you looked at in the past?

It's one of the cheaper ones, but also the only one that seems to mimic a regular DS screen layout instead of a 3DS one.

@kura Also the Pocket DS is not new, it's almost a year old at this point.

The Ayn Thor is the most popular one of the 3DS-like handhelds afaik.

I'm personally just not interested in these multi-hundred dollar devices, because I don't need them. I just want two identical displays that are integer-scale of the NDS and a DS button layout (d-pad above joystick, not below).

The RG DS is close, but I've held off thanks to how bad it is. Most notably, despite being a DS clone it can't run the best DS emulator (melonDS) well, you have to rely on stuff like drastic instead. And the displays aren't integer scale.

It's so close, I feel like the RG DS could've been exactly what I wanted if only they'd spent another $10-20 on components. I've considered getting an RG DS anyways, but knowing Anbernic I'm afraid they'll make an RG DS Pro a week after I order the non-pro.
