@phnt @mono several years ago I tried to just go to a bar and they wouldn't even let me in unless they could scan my id using a national commercial service with no privacy policy

@phnt @mono it's required to enter the bar but it's not a law. they're clearly doing some kind of private intelligence operation but they get the bars on board for various reasons, like you can ban people from a bar and they get banned from every bar. so it cleans up a liability issue. it's really scummy though, you're asking some angry busy bouncer what their privacy policy is and he doesn't know or care and just tells you to fuck off.
