@sun @bajax @demha @nerthos @shibao Think of it from this angle. Since most of the time he spends is on being Mr. Fediverse and traveling the world talking about how he created the Fediverse, he and his trust & safety Mastodon orbiter cabal is nearly harmless to the Fediverse. 

Based on some actions he made recently-ish, it appears that he is trying to solve an internal conflict between doing something better for the Fediverse, appeasing Fediblock Mastodon and well money. His whole "creator economy" and SWF thing reeks of trying to monetize Fedi, turn it into a corporate environment. His trust & safety thing about moderation is trying to appease to the Fediblock cabal . Meanwhile his tags.pub project that auto-repeated posts based on hashtags in statuses is a realization that there is an issue with AP that deserves to be solved, but he got a lot of backlash for just auto-repeating posts from the Fediblock cabal.

In other words, I don't think he is trying to be malicious and push things that would hurt Fediverse, but he is instead trying to play the game on three conflicting fronts and be the centrist that appeases everybody.

That said, I can't stand the smug looking expression he has on almost every pfp of his.
