@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun the other problem is that internet artists want to be in the "big club", especially the animators who either want to be picked up by a studio or by some outfit like Glitch Productions.
They're worried about offending other people like that and especially the big wigs. Nevermind the fact that social media isn't like Furaffinity/NG where the admins have "skin in the game" with regards to online community drama.

@sendpaws @coolboymew @sun I'd imagine that there are plenty of Monica Rial-type gatekeepers that aggressively keep anyone that strays too far from their norms from taking off. I do agree that the whole notion of there being "art communities" with ideological checklists is a major problem, though. Just draw, animate, whatever, and let the work do the talking.

@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun Oh for sure, it's even worse with the ones who can't handle when the hordes raid their images with dumbass gifs and they're ill-equipped to handle it. Of course, that was also a problem going back to the DeviantArt age, a lot of people trolled people on that site by saying "your art is shit" or "fuckin weird bro".
