Fell for another Humble Bundle book trap . Not really a trap at this point, but something I had forgotten again.

I went for the Turtles comics bundle and expected to be able to download them as CBZ / CBR files or even maybe as PDFs...

Well fuck me, because it's all tied up with Kobo. And not only that, but you can't download the books from the website like usual.

I did some digging and found this post:

. It got me 99% of the way and then I had to figure out that it doesn't work with the Flatpak version of Calibre. Installing Calibre from the Fedora repos didn't work either, but I think there was just a missing Python library somewhere.

Anyway, I installed Calibre directly from the website

, added the DeDRM plugins and now I'm ready to transfer my legally obtained books to my personal library on my homelab server.

Just in case there are other Turtles fans out there that don't care for DRM either. 😅
