the day I dropped the idea of public transportation back in the junior school time. I only got 2k rupiah for a single trip. went to the "hub" where every pub transport start their journey, but found none of my line. walked a bit, found and stopped one. I told em like I only got 2k rupiah (because its already out of school time, 6pm, in case they might charge more) then the guy told me like sure go ahead. in the middle of the trip, guy dropped me, for whatever reason it was I forgot, either he is planning to turn around or something. then I have to walk home like 10 kilos? not sure but that was far as shit and it was pass 7pm. since that day I always bring my bike to commute and use every single cent of my money to warnet instead of for commute

rapid transit network exists (BRT)
provincial government has defunded and shut it down once already; revived, but mostly covers the city centre to the southern tourist district parts of the island, and operating hours are for some reason 4am to 6pm or some shit like that so rip night shift people
motorcycle/car culture has established this sort of stigma against using the transit network, to the point where some people actually blame the service as being the cause of traffic jams
government is now instead directing funds to making one ART line, from the airport to a tourist district, even though there already exists a BRT route that serves effectively the same purpose
