Do people in the Eurozone typically hold currency outside of the Euro?

e.g. for instance, common practice in Southeast Asia to hold US Dollars

based on the answers i presume its not common to have a bank account outside your home country either..

@cell actually it is  because you can open a bank account anywhere in eu
