@icedquinn @pwm @tyil its comically oversold and it's causing insane hardware prices, every other complaint is pretty bullshit when you inspect them closer. the datacenter thing started okay when it was about land and utility prices affecting rural communities but now its people just mad about fucking datacenters in general because they got told to on social media

@sun@shitposter.world @icedquinn@blob.cat @pwm@darkdork.dev @tyil@fedi.tyil.nl I have personally always been mad about datacenters in general and the current "AI" craze has not changed that, only made it worse.
The internet is not supposed to be all centralized in one place owned by like 5 companies. Everyone should own their own hardware and host stuff for each other from home.
In the ideal world we would not need datacenters because the internet is fully decentralized.

the greybeards kinda knew shit would go down all the time. OVH fires don't stop e-mail.
