@gemlog @rqm no worries! it used to be very annoying ( http://sciops.net/information/technology/firefox/manual ) but the policies.json file makes it very simple nowadays. You're of course left at the mercy of whoever provided the file for you, and if you want to change something, you can no longer do it in the gui, but have to edit the file.
One extra benefit is that you can do this before starting firefox for the first time, so that it doesn't spy on you immediately before you do all the switching off.

That's true, but LibreWolf does save time - and I still have to add things.
I'm really offended every time I install FF for people at all the things I have to turn on, off, delete outright and add-on. Horrible. They sold their soul to goog long ago.
Anyhow, I'm back on FF now, but I don't recall why I had a problem with LW.
I try a nightly of https://servo.org/ Servo every once in a while.
I use it until it crashes ;-) But it's lasting longer every time, so... we live in hope.
