I remember when phone meant having a coiled wire you had to stand on a chair and hold up so it could unwind and untangle. I remember when you had to move a disc from a certain number and memorize numbers too! Fuck those spyware platforms!

Tbh I'm still confused on what's considered a pure function. Like in the resource that I use to learn about pure function, it says that suppose you have these functions:
func A() {
....
}

func B() {
....
A(....)
....
}

They said that func B is impure, and you should write it like this
func A() {
....
}

func B(A) {
....
A(....)
....
}

Isn't that just gonna make writing a function a hassle? Since you need to type every "dependency" into the parameter

UnrepentantWhiteDevil@zeke@nicecrew.digital (2026-09-19 07:33:19) Yeah, but I don't know how to change the emojis on my phone. I'm boomer af about shit like that. I'm trying to avoid "Boomer Confirmed" status while being laughed at or I'd ask my niece to show me.

Reply to @skinnylatte@hachyderm.io Adrianna Tan@skinnylatte@hachyderm.io (2026-09-19 07:11:19) In March 2026 the UN voted to describe the slave trade as the ‘gravest crime against humanity’

“Britain abstained, issuing an official explanation that it objected to the wording because it created “a hierarchy of historical atrocities”. The government also argued there was no duty to make reparations because slavery and the slave trade “were not, at the time those acts were committed, violations of international law”.

Could it be because when you do make a hierarchy of historical atrocities, Britain is responsible for at least 80% of it

He was an investor in a company that made 20 slave trade crossings (and his patron was one of the architects of English colonialism)
