yanno. it doesn't surprise me at all people find blender hard to learn. to get through modeling a character, texturing/shading it, and exporting an animation of it you need to know about:

- human anatomy
- 3d spatial awareness
- drawing (if you're making your own ref sheets)
- blender's many hotkeys and menus which aren't very intuitive
- topology
- what a material is
- how shaders work
- how to animate (general)
- how to animate (blender)
- how easing functions work
- color grading

I took a C-note sample of a shitty Casio RAP-1 Rapmaster keyboard and put it into a thing that turned it into a full piano MIDI instrument and played back Moonlight Sonata on it. And I'm happy.
