@toiletpaper if you research this, here is what you find:
churches in america used to not care about israel
churches in america were heavily manipulated into supporting israel, and zionism, through very specific events in history, not through a slow, natural evolution
you can connect these events to specific people and sources of money
modern support of israel is sustained through sources that are directly connected to the state of israel

*nods* I'm aware of that. I mean one of the reasons Jews can play the victim card is because for centuries they were actively persecuted by Christians. And of course you have the Catholic Pope who's spoken out about Israel's conduct on numerous occasions, which is somewhat ironic given their own history and continued rhetoric towards other minority religious persuasions such as my own.
However while that adds some nuance in this one contemporary situation, it doesn't really change the essential nature of the beast. As long as Abrahamites continue to think their shit doesn't stink, and that their literary superstition is the unassailable truth to which all other truth must bow in servitude, genocides like present day Israel/Palestine (one in a long line of Abrahamic genocides), are going to continue to occur unabated. The reason modern Christians can be manipulated into support for it so easily is because it's literally baked into the ``religion`` in the first place. As a class of religions on the whole that makes it fundamentally irredeemable.

@toiletpaper it's really not is my point, american christians didn't used to care about israel. it's materially different from the very real ancient history obsession with the holy land and taking it over. if christians were trying to actually take jerusalem out of the hands of jews, i would say the current day has a lineage to christian theology of the past. the historic connection of christias and jews, also, is uh, hating them and replacing them, which is a different thing than believing that rapture theology adores jews because they think it accelerates the end times but otherwise has contempt for them. I can tell you, coming from that background, the christian love for jews, even if its connected to rapture, is not a cover story. they legitimately love jews and israel, they just hold a weird contradictory system in their head
