Gamelord fantasy console update:
I bolted on a serial port to Gamelord, but it's hardwiredto send and receive mailbox messages from a reserved memory chunk so games can do low-latency bidirectional binary message-passing. to an external client.
I wrote a MCP that runs on the MiSTer, that among other things, lets an LLM remote-control the MiSTer to load cores and game cartridges. And, inject controller input.
Then I added ability for the MCP to subscribe to cartridge messages that describe game state to the LLM. The whole game state, including semantic data, and things like, what controller input is permitted and what each button does. The MCP can also request a catalog game-state of the whole game at the current moment. and, can request arbitrary chunks of memory for inspection.
It's possible also for the MCP to inject arbitrary payloads into the console message-passing serial port. Games can define their own protocol for high-level remote control so you can control a game without having to munge it through controller input.
