@sun a daycare teacher had this rule: "if another child hits you, and you hit back, ONLY YOU will get in trouble"
Because I was filled with evil, as was the custom in those times, I hit another child who would reliably hit me back, and repeatedly got him in trouble.

For my sins I have to suffer these 'world leaders' whose analysis for every conflict relies on my not remembering that some abuse is a direct retaliation for a prior abuse.

@apropos when I have kids I will teach them, if a kid hits you at school, wait until after school then bust them in the fucking teeth with a log

@sun I think that kid had the right idea: hit back and get in trouble, so what? His refusal to play cynical games with rules and stand up for himself probably helped him more in life than my way did.

All I'd add is that, to not look stupid, your kid should also explain that he'd just rather get in trouble than play the teacher's little game.
