@ageha I noticed a lot of Amazon and Neflix shows have gay characters that I was surprised falled right into "perverted villain is gay" cliche. I realized at some point that it's probably because they mandate inclusion in casting so the director or someone is doing it as a "fuck you" for being forced on them

@ageha the other more banal explanation is that there's been a lot of professional turnover in the entertainment industry with the boomer die-off and a lot of institutional knowledge on things to avoid has been lost, I have seen it in other places too.
