@sandycorzeta I have done this. two issues:
1. even with the good trackpad, the linux trackpad software is just plain not as good, so it's still not as good as macos. it's better though!
2. power management isn't as good, it gets hot and uses battery a lot faster than macos. I always ran on wall power so didn't care, but it was noticeably way worse unplugged.
I guess also Linux is way worse at hotplugged monitors, but if you;re comfortable with linux you can just write little xrandr or whatever scripts to adjust and it works fine.

@sandycorzeta caveat: its been a minute since I've done this and linux may have gotten a lot better. I consider an Intel Macbook to be the absolute best Linux laptop I ever used with the sole complaint that it doesn't have three buttons.

@sun@shitposter.world Thanks for your input and reviews, Moon. This really help me which hardware should i consider to pick next. Intel Macbook is also a consideration before even writing this asking post, since local markets here are quite a lot selling second hand Intel macbook. So, i won't be so worry about the availability of it.
