@7666 I try not to think about it. The truth is people host it on their own deltachat servers that implement SMTP their own way I guess

@sun @7666 I have successfully operated deltachat off the same server and email address as my regular email. It works fine even in that somewhat gimped setup.
There is a single binary chatmail implementation based off the mail server I used for that (maddy)
