Drexel University is trying to close the oldest natural history museum in all of America, the Academy of Natural Sciences, which is over 200 years old.
They intend to move the entire collection of fossils and artefacts to a different location, including over 19 million different specimens and 73,000 holotype specimens.
this is likely to result in a significant number of them being permanently damaged or even completely ruined.
On September 1st, they announced the museum will be closing on September 27th. That is less than one month from when it was announced. It is currently the 24th 25th, there are three two days left. They did not ask for donations or any help with funding, they just rushed out a closing date without even telling the employees.
Don't let them close it.
