Dear instance admins who keep the character limits between 200-500

Why? Do you hate your users? Do you hate the people who hate to read your users' posts? Reading threads of several messages all coming from a single person fucking sucks compared to just having one big message with the entire message.

Hell, this post isn't even that long and I'm already past the 300 char limit of a lot of Mastodon instances (Pleroma/Akkoma and *key instances don't seem to suffer from this nearly as much, with char limits there usually being at or above 5000). Also, past 500, this would have needed to be a thread on a lot of Mastodon instances.
