I know this sounds cynical, but no, reaching out to me in DMs with your sob story won’t make me donate to you because that’s what scammers do.

I didn’t report a good chunk of the ones that reached out like that on the slim chance they were genuine, but please just stop reaching out like that because everyone with one iota of opsec will just assume it’s a scam since, again, THAT’S WHAT SCAMMERS DO
