Since 2025, we have been working in collaboration with Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to better understand the impacts of seahorse trade on wild populations and identify solutions. More than 300 interviews found that 7 of Indonesia's 13 seahorse species are regularly caught as bycatch. Working with fishing communities, government agencies, and NGOs, we're now identifying feasible management options and pilot locations to test them.
