Fable review of deepseek-harness and ilar:

They are different animals aiming at the same job. DeepSeek Harness is a platform: an everything-is-a-plugin monorepo with a web UI, built by a DeepSeek team of roughly fifty people in three months. ilar is a product: one Rust binary with a strong opinion about sessions, built by you alone in one month. Feature-for-feature ilar is surprisingly close on the agent loop, and ahead on a few things. Where DeepSeek Harness pulls away is safety infrastructure, breadth of integrations, and test discipline. ---Attachments--- image: https://fediffusion.art/media/93/71/e7/9371e7bf794bd698b683359f25b14607c55e734d354180c48a25a79b77d938ef.webp
---Reply--- Piggo ✨️ GTS@piggo@gs.rypak.cz (2026-09-16 02:24:02) @lain No permission system is an odd choice. My claude would quite often shit the bed if it wasn't stopped by the auto classifier (mostly sloppy shell, sleep 3600..., while true sleep 20)

@piggo i only run it with safe-agent or nono, so the permission system is kernel-enforced. I'm thinking about integrating it so you get best of both worlds.
