@sun @winterklaus yeah but people mindlessly parrot that statement not understanding that the situation with the SPD in Germany in the 1920s/30s was also the result of the unique conditions at the time. though also "social democracy" is a distinct thing from "democratic socialism"; the DSA is closer to Salvador Allende than the SPD.

@nyx @winterklaus you would know better than me for sure, I have read it but I still only have a surface reading of it which is that even halfway capitulation to a capitalist economy still basically makes you friendly to fascism
