(Hint: He didn't write Git because he wanted to improve open source distributed version control out of the kindness of his heart, he wrote it because BitBucket cut off the Linux kernel devs from their free license). But yeah, the way I think about Linux at this point is that it's somewhere to stand while we figure out what comes next.

@chansecodina@sunny.garden that was because someone wrote a gpl'd client in that case right? Was a bit before my time so I'm not entirely sure on the history.
