@sun @scathach @navi mostly because nothing outside of enterprise uses them. hence browser vendors have no incentive to fix that

@mia @scathach @navi have you done anything with smartcard lately? in the past literally all the smartcard middleware on windows was proprietary and vendor-supplied fucking garbage.

I have a usb smartcard reader for my macbook, I can use my japanese id smartcard to authenticate to government websites, it's so nice
