"Central economic planning by the government would be terrible!"

Our current economy is being centrally planned by a handful of unaccountable credulous weirdos who are presently attempting to build God by turning every hectare of arable land into GPU-filled data centers that will boil the oceans. I'm open to trying something different.

Using "Red Scare" tactics work a lot better when the "Reds" are actively threatening to annihilate your civilization with mutually assured nuclear apocalypse. But now the dastardly Soviet Union no longer exists, and China seems pretty content with watching the US ruin itself from the sidelines. The Boogeyman of Communism only exists in the minds of Boomers. Capitalism is by far the biggest active threat in the lives of most people today.
