There's some rumors about Moon RPG Remix, the fishing contest, which is absolute RNG bullshit, the amount of fishes, luck with fishes and etc. that you need to gain the event's Love is complete BS
There's some restaurant in the game where the dish's description is that it's the fisher's favorite dish and he believe it makes him luckier. Evidently, people put 1+1 together
If we had a save file of the fishing contest, we could probably ask it if there's a variable in the memory that it's reading for the fish spawn and time to catch

@lain @coolboymew I'm currently using the MCP and its Mesen automation to make a 6502 programming language better for NES development. This plugin is great.
