should I use AVIF or WebP for big PNG compression? I think some people on fedi dislike it? could you explain why? thanks!

@kaia avif is generally the best at the moment. for browsers it's the thing i'd recommend. people dislike webp and avif because support for them in software other than browsers was / is spotty, but both formats have been universally supported in browsers for years now.
