If I define away "competency" in a language to mean, say

Being able to conduct your life, maintain a reasonably well standards of living, integrate yourself in society, etc. entirely in said language

How much is the effort needed to learn a language, really :cirnothinking:

Also this is I guess why I'm a taaaaad biased against those Onlyne Poliglot types :haha: 

Claiming to be able to speak 4000 languages cus you can hold a meme conversation or two in it is booooriiingggg, show us yourself conducting your life entirely in it for a week or two and you have my respect
