@kaia im surrounded by anti cat people lately. i dont dislike cats. but u always think of: we have 500 000 000 cats on earth, and they consume as much meat as the everage human. also they are an invasive species in many areas of the world.
cats are more or less pure meat eating animals. dogs on the other hand can digest plant protein. (there is some discourse in the vegan community if it is ok to feed your dog vegan only. im not convinced yet but it might be a matter of time and perfecting the diet. but even a mixed diet is quite fine and natural for doggos)
green people like to hate on people driving cars, flying a plane or whatever. but pets have a big impact aswell.
my personal stance is: feel free to get any pet. even rare exotic ones. make sure you get your pet out of a shelter. dont support any breeding (or worse wildlife catching) industry. and maybe dont let your cats breed (though tbh this kinda hurts me bc i believe in autonomy for animals)
