ENIGMATICO :flag_bisexual: :flag_nonbinary:@enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be (2026-08-18 05:29:26)
I'm thinking about all the controversy surounding Linux and AI generated code, and how they are pushing AI into Linux for no reason. Linus said, "do the open source thing and fork the kernel". I have a better idea.
If AI is so good that it can code flawlessly as these people imply, at this point what exactly prevents me from getting AI to code an entire operating system for me adapted exclusively to my computer so that I don't have to rely on Linux? Because if I'm going to be forced to use AI slop code then I might as well use my own slop, don't you think?
In that regard, why should I rely on Linux anymore? Or the Linus Foundation? Or GNU? I don't need them anymore.
In fact, I was starting to think that if AI was truly that good... I could actually replace all the big tech. Why would I need their software when I can get an AI to vibe code my own for me? I don't need them either.
And I'm thinking, why stopping at software? Why not going into entertainment as well? If the movie industry wants to use AI generated images, what stops me from using AI to generate a movie for me? I don't need to watch their slop. I don't need them either. Or AAA games, I can get AI to do the job for me.
I don't think they understand, if AI was so good, they can replace me with AI. But I can do the exact same to them. I can replace them with AI. I won't need them anymore.
Of course... it's not that good and it's not that simple. And for that sole reason THEY HAVE TO STOP FUCKING USING AI. Its not ethics, its not morals. Its impractical. Period.
