@koakuma this is the kind of beginner's questions that, for example, @elilla has written about again and again and again; if you want some perspective on the matter there's a whole timeline of that from someone who actually managed what we all failed

@elilla @SharpLimefox Thank you!
> “comprehensive and compelling input through free voluntary reading”, which is academese for “you got super into some series and binged it volume after volume, not caring about the fact that, technically speaking, you didn’t know the language yet.”
And yea this is something that I've seen too (and others are saying to me to just interact with the language a lot so yeah) but I still find it hard to get into that state of mind, I think?
Maybe can get into that state once every a long while but otherwise...
With narrative-type books I have severe difficulties tracking who's who, who does what, and what are the relationships between the parties in it; I can do better somewhat with popsci-style stuff but still I can't bring myself to sit down and read (or watch or play or...) for more than a couple minutes at a time...
(And this also happens when I'm consuming media in languages I already know so I'm pretty sure there's something that isn't right with me that isn't strictly about languages, but I dunno what :char_nachoneko_baa: )
