maybe they don't want to go the extra mile to make emulation decent (with their own software)?
Look at the abominations Nintendo shits out these days, getting something on screen is different than reaching full compatibility with a huge legacy library. And you need some amount of polish if you distribute the old titles with emulators digitally. I'd be fine with them just dropping ROMs into the archive and let established free software emulators handle them in an isolated homebrew mode on consoles, but for snoy it would possibly have liability issues for how console games drm and bios files and all that work legally

Originally Palestine was under british mandate and reluctantly let jews into it, but then zionist militias radicalized, got armed by the soviet union, and fucked over the brits and the arab palestinians. Technically they were anti-colonial terrorists that overtook some institutions of british colonialism.
