@lain I would be surprised if McD's wasn't adjusting their prices periodically around median household income to ensure sales.
do you know if the range of salaries has widened around the median? A flatter distribution would produce a larger subset of people for whom the median-adjusted hamburger is still too expensive
it might help to explain why so many people complain about feeling squeezed even on things like this where the price is an inflation-adjusted equivalent

@binkle @lain gee what if we decided to not only compare this across timelines where median income and prices have increased, but across countries as well where incomes and prices vary

@cell @binkle big mac index has become so popular that macdonald's tries to keep the big mac price stable while raising prices for sides and other items.
