hmmm, running up against another tough challenge:
A character needs to learn to be a better ally. How do I make that conversation happen without if feeling like I'm beating the reader over the head with it, and turning them off of the book?
Like, I'm mostly concerned with the people who already know this, either because they are already allies or because they are part of a minority. If someone thinks that I'm virtue signalling or whatever, that's their problem not mine. I just want to have the journey of the bigoted character not be an off-screen thing, and show her trying to be better and sometimes failing

@gwenthefops@transfem.social ho about: character a says to character c 'i talk to character b about being a better ally, they seemed recptive' or whatever rather than verbatim the conversation?

@brettm@swarm.coiloptic.org :neofox_think: Yeah, that might work for some stuff, although I'm not sure this specific situation works....
